Newly-promoted Premier League side Fulham have made an offer for Wolfsburg right-back Kevin Mbabu.

According to Tutto Mercato Web, Fulham have set their sights on Wolfsburg right-back Kevin Mbabu and have made an offer for the Swiss defender. The 27-year-old has just a year remaining on his contract with the Bundesliga club and could be on the move this summer.

The Cottagers gained promotion to the Premier League after finishing atop the Championship table last season. Marco Silva’s side are eager to strengthen in multiple positions ahead of the new season, as they look to secure their Premier League status beyond 2023.

Shakhtar Donetsk winger Manor Solomon is closing in on a move to the London outfit. The Israel international could play all along the front line, which would help Fulham make up for the loss of Fabio Carvalho, who moved to Liverpool this summer.

The Cottagers are also in the market for a goalkeeper and have reportedly identified Arsenal’s Bernd Leno as a possible summer signing. The German has fallen down the pecking order at the Emirates and is looking for greener pastures.

Right-back is another area Fulham are looking to strengthen. Mbabu has thus emerged as an option with just a year remaining on his Wolfsburg contract. The Switzerland international made 31 appearances for the club across competitions last season and is known for being solid defensively.

Fulham are also tracking Liverpool right-back, Neco Williams, for the position. Williams joined the London outfit on a six-month loan in January earlier this year, helping them gain promotion to the English top-flight. The Cottagers are eager to sign him permanently, but Liverpool are holding out for £15 million.

The Reds full-back is attracting interest from other English clubs as well. Nottingham Forest and Southampton have both approached Liverpool with their offers, along with Fulham. Marco Silva’s side are confident of getting the Neco Williams deal through, but they do have alternate options in mind if they fail to get the move through.

Mbabu is seen as such an alternative, with TMW claiming that an offer has already been lodged for the 27-year-old. The Switzerland international has prior experience of playing in England, having spent time with Newcastle United. Whether a return to the Premier League is on the cards for the defender remains to be seen.
