Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has reportedly reached out to Raheem Sterling, a target for Barcelona and Real Madrid, to oversee a summer transfer.

According to a report by Daily Telegraph, Chelsea have established contact with Raheem Sterling through Thomas Tuchel as they look to push ahead and sign him in the summer transfer window. The English international is also a target for Barcelona and Real Madrid, with Manchester City demanding between £50 million and £60 million for him.

Raheem Sterling has reached a crossroads in his Manchester City stint, with the two parties open to parting ways in the summer transfer window. The 27-year-old has been a prized asset for the Citizens since arriving from Liverpool in a controversial move nearly seven years ago.

The English international has amassed 131 goals and 95 assists in 339 appearances thus far for Manchester City. But the reigning Premier League champions are in a spot of bother over Sterling’s long-term future, as his contract will expire next year. Such a situation has alerted Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Chelsea while prompting Manchester City to demand between £50 million and £60 million for him.

The interest from Barcelona stems from the rising uncertainties surrounding the future of Ousmane Dembele. The Frenchman is yet to agree to a new long-term contract with the Blaugrana and could become a free agent in less than a week if the two parties cannot reach an agreement.

As for Real Madrid, Marco Asensio’s uncertain situation has prompted Los Blancos to scour the market for a long-term solution in the final third. And Sterling has thus emerged as a viable target for Real Madrid. But Barcelona and Real Madrid will need to step up their efforts to land the Manchester City forward, as Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has established contact with him.

Tuchel has approached Sterling to convince him to join Chelsea in the summer transfer window, as the Blues ready their latest offer for the 27-year-old. Sterling is reportedly the priority target for Chelsea as they look to replace Romelu Lukaku with a more versatile forward this summer.

Sterling is reportedly open to joining Chelsea, leaving Barcelona and Real Madrid with an uphill task to sign him. But the west Londoners still need to cross the bridge of reaching an agreement with Manchester City over the transfer fee, and it will be interesting to see if they are ready to pay between £50 million and £60 million for Sterling.
