Atletico Madrid are in contact with Hector Bellerin’s entourage over a move in this window, with Arsenal ready to sell at the right price.

According to Goal, Hector Bellerin has emerged as a target for Atletico Madrid as Diego Simeone searches for a new right-back who could forge a permanent place in the team. Arsenal are ready to sell the Spanish full-back if they recieve the right offer.

Hector Bellerin’s career dovetailed following a serious knee injury a few seasons ago. Unfortunately, the Spanish full-back never found his zip and rhythm since returning from the injury, despite putting in some impressive performances along the way.

Bellerin considered a change of scenario last summer and eventually decided to move away from Arsenal to regain form and fitness to improve his career. Joining Real Betis on loan seemed like a safe bet for the right-back, who was nostalgic after joining the team his family supported.

Bellerin played a pivotal role in Betis’ season, as they finished on a high by winning the Copa Del Rey. However, despite reiterating his desire to remain at the club, the economics of the deal have scuppered the chances of the Spanish side.

Betis cannot afford Arsenal’s asking price for the right-back, which initially put Bellerin’s chances of moving away in doubt. However, since many other sides have shown an interest in the full-back, the Gunners are optimistic they could get the desired money in this market.

Amid heavy interest from Italian sides, Arsenal reportedly placed an €18 million price tag, which may seem excessive considering Bellerin only has a year left on his current deal. With his career at the Emirates seemingly over, there’s a chance for the Spaniard to join a La Liga side next campaign.

Atletico Madrid are reportedly keen on the Arsenal star. The Rojiblancos have been in contact with his entourage and explored the idea of a permanent move. Diego Simeone is keen on signing a new permanent right-back after suffering from Kieran Trippier’s departure in January. The England international left a huge void in the side, which more or less ended their title defence.

Simeone is looking at several options in the market and may consider Bellerin a viable alternative. The Spaniard could be a cut-price option, as Atletico could look to reduce Arsenal’s reported asking price.

As for Bellerin, resuming play at the highest level and joining a Champions League club could be an exciting prospect for the right-back. In any case, plenty of other clubs are keen on the Gunners star, as he looks to depart the Emirates once and for all.
