Aston Villa, Everton and Newcastle United have reportedly set their sights on Tomas Soucek, who faces an uncertain future at West Ham United.

According to a report by The Sun, Aston Villa, Everton, and Newcastle United are ready to pounce on the rising uncertainties surrounding Tomas Soucek’s situation at West Ham United heading into the summer transfer window. The Hammers could listen to offers worth around £30 million for the Czech midfield general.

Tomas Soucek has been a hit with fans and David Moyes alike since joining West Ham United from Slavia Praha. The Londoners initially signed the 27-year-old on a short-term loan deal in January 2020 before making his stay permanent in the subsequent summer transfer window.

The Czech Republic international has turned out over 100 times for West Ham in the last two and a half years, establishing himself as a pivotal figure by forging a brilliant midfield partnership with Declan Rice. But the Hammers are not ready to hand Soucek a new contract with improved wages anytime soon, which has left him unsettled while capturing the attention of Aston Villa, Everton, and Newcastle United.

Aston Villa have been one of the busiest clubs ahead of the summer transfer window, signing Philippe Coutinho, Diego Carlos, Robin Olsen and Boubacar Kamara. The latter’s arrival should have ideally ended Aston Villa’s desire to bolster the midfield unit. But Douglas Luiz and John McGinn face uncertain futures at the club, prompting the Villans to consider signing another midfielder.

As for Everton, the Toffees will be desperate to avoid another relegation battle after a difficult 2021/22 campaign. But the Merseyside giants need to balance their books before investing in players this summer, which has held up their transfer business. But following Fabian Delph’s exit as a free agent, Everton will need to invest in a central midfielder, making Soucek a viable target.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United will continue the squad rebuild under Eddie Howe, with the Magpies likely to bolster the midfield unit again despite Bruno Guimaraes’s instant impact at St. James’ Park. And while Joelinton has transformed into a midfield general, Newcastle might sign a new midfielder. To that end, Seko Fofana has emerged on Newcastle’s radar, with West Ham ace Soucek an option worth considering.

West Ham could listen to offers of around £30 million for Soucek, making him an affordable option for Aston Villa, Everton, and Newcastle United. But the 27-year-old might only leave West Ham if he continues to push for an improved contract. If not, an extended stay at the London Stadium will be on the cards for Soucek.
