Tottenham are reportedly ready to lodge an offer for Leeds United winger Raphinha, who is also being pursued by Barcelona and Arsenal.

According to Italian journalist Gianluigi Longari, Tottenham Hotspur are ready to make their move to secure the signing of Leeds United winger Raphinha. The Lilywhites are planning to launch an opening bid of €50 million, plus €10 million in add-ons, to lure the Barcelona and Arsenal target to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Raphinha has emerged as one of the most in-demand players in the current transfer window. The Brazilian enjoyed an impressive 2021/22 campaign as he netted 11 goals and set up three more to help Leeds United avoid relegation back to the EFL Championship by the narrowest of margins.

However, Raphinha’s time at Elland Road could soon end as a whole host of clubs are lining up to sign him. Barcelona have been linked the strongest with a move for the Brazilian international, with the Blaugrana viewing him as a direct replacement for contract rebel Ousmane Dembele.

But their poor financial situation has meant that Barcelona are yet to make a concrete offer for Raphinha. It has left Leeds United frustrated, who are now open to selling the winger to other clubs.

And, Tottenham, who recently entered the race for the 25-year-old and made contact with the Whites, are now ready to lodge an offer for him. The Lilywhites are looking to add more depth to their attacking unit as they prepare to part ways with Steven Bergwijn, while Lucas Moura’s future is also far from certain. So, someone like Raphinha would be a top signing for Antonio Conte’s side.

As per Gianluigi Longari, Tottenham are willing to offer a sum of €50 million upfront, plus another €10 million in add-ons to beat their competition to the signing of Raphinha. Although it would be short of the £65 million (€75 million) that Leeds are demanding for their prized asset, as per Fabrizio Romano.

Furthermore, the Brazilian international’s priority remains to sign for Barcelona, with his agent, Deco, meeting the Blaugrana president Joan Laporta on Wednesday to accelerate the transfer process.

Apart from Barcelona and Tottenham, Arsenal are also on the hunt for the signing of Raphinha. Indeed, the Gunners reportedly even made an offer to sign the Brazilian, but as confirmed by The Athletic, Leeds have turned it down as it was well below their valuation of the former Sporting CP and Rennes attacker.

So, it will be interesting to see if Arsenal come up with an improved offer or whether Tottenham Hotspur’s reported bid is enough to convince Leeds to part ways with Raphinha. As for Barcelona, despite claims that they already have agreed personal terms with the winger, they must act swiftly if they wish to sign Raphina this summer.

Can someone please explain why Spurs need Raphinha? We need an out and out striker in the shape of Martinez of Inter, not another winger. We need two centre backs one of which being left footed, we need two wing back left and right and we also need a creative central midfielder. So why would we spend so much money on a player we don’t need?
