Barcelona and Real Madrid are reportedly among the clubs keen on signing 20-year-old French defender Enzo Boyomo from Albacete this summer.

According to Spanish outlet Cazurreando, Enzo Boyomo could be set to join a big club in Spain in the summer transfer window. Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Villarreal are keen on securing the services of the 20-year-old defender, with his time at Albacete possibly running its course.

Flavien Enzo Thiedort Boyomo spent his formative years in his homeland, progressing through the ranks at Toulouse before finishing his youth career at Blackburn Rovers. The 20-year-old earned his breakthrough in professional football at Albacete, the club he joined from Blackburn in September 2020.

While the French defender spent his debut season with Albacete’s reserve side before playing a pivotal role in Queso Mecanico’s promotion-clinching campaign. Boyomo turned out 29 times for Albacete, taking them to the Segunda Division. And his exploits have captured the attention of three of La Liga’s biggest clubs – Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Villarreal.

Barcelona will likely lose the services of Arnau Comas in the summer transfer window, with the youngster set to join FC Basel. Comas’s departure would will Barcelona B short of quality in the defensive department, one Boyomo can fill if he arrives from Albacete ahead of the 2022/23 season.

The Catalan giants also have other alternatives in mind, with Martin Georgiev emerging as a target. As for the race to sign Boyomo, Barcelona will have to fend off stiff competition from arch-rival Real Madrid to secure the services of the 20-year-old French defender.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid might loan out Victor Chust for a second successive summer transfer window. The 22-year-old has emerged on the radars of several Spanish clubs, with Sevilla reportedly keen on securing his services. Boyomo is thus a viable target for Real Madrid to bolster the defensive unit in the Castilla team.

In addition to Barcelona and Real Madrid, Boyomo also features on Villarreal’s wishlist. One thing common between the three La Liga giants is that the 20-year-old French international will likely join their reserve teams if he joins any club from Albacete in the summer transfer window.
