Tottenham Hotspur and Everton have reportedly submitted contract offers for Christian Eriksen, who is also a target for Manchester United.

According to Daily Mail, Christian Eriksen is entertaining offers from several top clubs in England as Tottenham Hotspur and Everton have tabled contract proposals for the 30-year-old, along with Manchester United and Brentford.

It has been a little over a year since Eriksen was involved in the shocking incident at UEFA Euro 2020 while in action for Denmark against Finland. Having sufficiently recovered from his heart condition, the playmaker returned to footballing action this past January, after joining Brentford in a free transfer.

Eriksen quickly made an impact on his return and played a key role in helping the Bees maintain their status as a Premier League club, finishing with a goal and four assists from 11 matches in the top flight. The Danish midfielder’s contract with the Bees expires in two weeks, and he is attracting major interest from clubs at the top-end of the table.

While Brentford themselves are keen on extending his stay, Eriksen is also attracting serious interest from Manchester United and former club Tottenham, while Everton are also keen, with all three clubs now believed to have tabled contract offers for the 30-year-old.

Manchester United have lost two attacking midfielders this summer, with Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard departing as free agents, while Paul Pogba has also left the club. Frenkie de Jong remains a top priority for new manager Erik ten Hag, but the Dutchman is also open to the prospect of signing Eriksen to add cover and competition for Bruno Fernandes, with a contract offer already being made.

Meanwhile, Eriksen’s former club Tottenham Hotspur are also keen on re-signing the midfielder. The Lilywhites are primed to bid goodbye to Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele permanently. Even though Yves Bissouma is poised to arrive, Antonio Conte could use a creative element in midfield, especially with Spurs’ involvement in the UEFA Champions League, making Eriksen a viable target.

Everton, too, have seemingly entered the race to sign Eriksen and have proposed a contract offer for the soon-to-be free agent. The move to sign Dele Alli from Tottenham has failed for the Toffees, while Donny van de Beek is back at Manchester United after his loan spell. So, there is a vacancy in the midfield that Frank Lampard is seemingly trying to fill by signing Eriksen.

The Danish international recently insisted that he would like to play Champions League football again, which might stack the odds in favour of Tottenham. With the 30-year-old not short of options, it will be interesting to see which way he leans when the time to make the decision arrives, with Brentford, Everton, and Manchester United also hoping to convince him to join them.
