Chelsea are reportedly targeting a summer swoop for Wolves full-back Rayan Ait-Nouri, who is also courted by Manchester City.

According to Daily Mail, Chelsea have entered the race to sign Rayan Ait-Nouri. The Wolves starlet is a man in demand this summer as the Premier League giants look to snap him up as a direct replacement for Marcos Alonso. Manchester City are another club keen on securing the services of Ait-Nouri, who is tipped to move to a bigger club this summer.

Chelsea are braced to lose Alonso in the summer transfer window. The left-back has been closely linked with a move to FC Barcelona, with the player, even agreeing personal terms with the Catalans. His potential exit could create a massive void in the left wing-back department, effectively leaving Ben Chilwell as the only recognised option in the position.

The Englishman is coming on the back of a long spell on the sidelines as well, which has accentuated the need for a new left-back this summer. That is where Rayan Ait-Nouri comes into the fray for Chelsea, having established himself as one of the most exciting players in the position in the Premier League, thanks to his brilliant performances with Wolves.

Since joining the club from Angers in 2020, Ait-Nouri has racked up over 50 competitive appearances for Wolves. His attacking prowess and ability to make darting runs out wide have raised many eyebrows within the Premier League. With nine goal involvements, the youngster has also backed up his skillset quite well.

Rayan Ait-Nouri’s performances have not gone unnoticed, with Chelsea among the clubs interested in securing his services. The Premier League giants are targeting the Frenchman as an ideal replacement for Alonso – someone who can not only replace the Spaniard in the long-term but also offer competition for Chilwell.

The 21-year-old’s athletic nature, coupled with his technical ability and pace just makes him a better alternative to Chilwell. Chelsea, though, have their task cut out if they are to sign the youngster, especially amid interest from Manchester City.

The English champions are looking to add more depth in the left-back unit, where the team has appeared highly reliant on Joao Cancelo. The future of Oleksandr Zinchenko remains uncertain as well, amid interest from Barcelona. A move for Ait-Nouri, therefore, could make a world of sense for Manchester City.

However, luring the youngster from the Molineux could be a difficult task for Chelsea and Manchester City as the player’s contract does not expire until 2026. It should hand Wolves to leverage to hold out for a hefty amount for the services of their prized full-back, although the Midlands outfit are appearing much more receptive to offers for Adama Traore on the opposite flank.
