Everton will reportedly demand £50 million for English international Dominic Calvert-Lewin as interest from Arsenal, Newcastle and West Ham intensifies.

According to The Telegraph, Everton will want at least £50 million to part ways with centre-forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin this summer. The English international is attracting interest from multiple Premier League sides and is expected to be on the move in the upcoming transfer window.

Newcastle United are reportedly the front-runners for his signature, and there is also serious interest from London clubs Arsenal and West Ham United. The Magpies have reportedly initiated discussions with the player’s entourage, who is also said to be attracting interest from Manchester United.

Calvert-Lewin, a Sheffield United youth product, joined Everton in the summer of 2016. He was not thrust into Premier League action immediately, as he made just 11 appearances in the English top-flight in his first season with the Toffees.

Chances and performances, started to improve from the following season as the 25-year-old scored four times and assisted seven goals in 32 Premier League matches. The consistent improvement in his output saw him amass 16 Premier League strikes in 2020/21, but an injury-affected 2021/22 term slowed things down.

The 25-year-old’s toe injury restricted him to just 18 appearances across all competitions in the recently-concluded season. In his absence, the Toffees struggled, flirting with relegation for a majority of the second half of the season. But the English international returned to score twice and assist once in their last three Premier League matches to save them from the drop.

Thus, manager Frank Lampard is eager to hold on to Calvert-Lewin. Everton could also lose Richarlison this summer, and selling both their attackers could end up costing them. Thus, to fend off potential suitors, Everton have slapped a £50 million price tag on the English forward.

Arsenal might look to sign Calvert-Lewin as Alexandre Lacazette will leave as a free agent, vacating a spot in the offensive unit. Meanwhile, Newcastle will aim to bolster their attack, as Chris Wood has not been prolific enough since arriving from Burnley in January. As for West Ham, the ever-increasing burden on Michail Antonio has prompted the Hammers to scour the market for a new striker.

It remains to be seen whether any of Arsenal, Newcastle and West Ham decide to shell out £50 million to sign Calvert-Lewin this summer, or if he stays put at Everton.
