Inter Milan have been offered the chance to sign out-of-favour Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

According to Italian publication La Gazzetta dello Sport, Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been offered to Serie A giants Inter Milan. The England international has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge in recent seasons and could do with a change in scenery.

The 26-year-old, who is a Chelsea youth product, is ‘unsatisfied’ with life under Thomas Tuchel and is hoping to get a move this summer. Loftus-Cheek started just 11 Premier League matches in the 2021/22 season after spending the previous term on loan at Fulham.

It is clear that the situation isn’t going to improve for the England international as Chelsea are looking at midfield reinforcements in the market and a move could be beneficial for his career. With Loftus-Cheek being offered to Inter Milan, the Italian giants are now exploring the possibility of signing the midfielder, who has been deemed surplus to requirements at Chelsea.

Inter Milan are not financially sound and will need to sell one or two of their star players to balance their books and secure new signings. They will thus not be able to spend lavishly in the summer window and are targeting Loftus-Cheek for his versatility, as he can strengthen the roster in more than one position.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have put a €20 million price tag on the midfielder, which the Nerazzurri deem too high. The Italian giants are thus ready to wait it out to see if the Blues reduce their valuation. They might even consider making a loan proposal, which would be much less costly for them. They seem comfortable paying the player’s €3.5 million-a-year wages.

Inter ran AC Milan close for the Serie A title this season and just lost out on winning the Scudetto two years in a row. They are willing to add reinforcements in multiple departments and believe Loftus-Cheek would be a good addition to a strong midfield. Lazio are reportedly eyeing the Chelsea midfielder as well.

Loftus-Cheek has been used in multiple positions by the ever-changing managers at Chelsea, and while that hasn’t helped him in England, it could be beneficial if he chooses to move to Italy. He could be joined by his current Chelsea teammate Romelu Lukaku, who is also being linked with a return to Inter Milan.
