Arsenal have reportedly set a valuation of €18 million on forgotten defender Hector Bellerin, who is a summer transfer target for Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma.

According to Calciomercato, Arsenal have slapped a price tag of €18 million on Hector Bellerin, who has emerged as a transfer target for Italian giants AS Roma heading into the summer window.

Bellerin joined Arsenal from Barcelona’s La Masia youth setup in 2011 and broke into the senior team in 2014 after a loan spell away at Watford. The Spaniard soon became a mainstay at right-back for the north London club and went on to make 239 appearances in which he has chalked up a return of nine goals and 29 assists.

Bellerin lost some of his quality following a serious knee injury, which eventually led to him falling down the pecking order at the Emirates. And the Spanish international was shipped out on loan last summer to Real Betis as Arsenal signed Takehiro Tomiyasu to bolster their options at right-back.

Bellerin had a solid season with Los Verdiblancos, making 32 appearances and setting up five goals, helping Betis finish fifth in La Liga and win the Copa del Rey. With his loan spell expiring, the 27-year-old will return to the Emirates imminently. He wishes to return to Betis permanently, but the Spanish club are not in a solid financial position to sign him up.

But Bellerin does not have a future at Arsenal, who are eyeing a new right-back in the form of Nahuel Molina. So, while a move to Betis might be difficult, the Spaniard is not short of admirers as Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma are lining up a move to sign the Spaniard.

The Giallorossi, who won the UEFA Europa Conference League this past season, are intent on adding a new right-back to their roster to provide competition to Rick Karsdorp. They are looking at several options as potential targets, with LOSC Lille’s Zeki Celik and Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka on their radars, along with Bellerin.

And as per the report, Arsenal value Bellerin at €18 million as Mikel Arteta’s value look to extract full value for the 27-year-old. But with his contract set to expire in 2023, Roma will try to negotiate a lower fee for the defender, who is also wanted by Fiorentina. An interesting summer awaits Bellerin, as he looks to sort out his future.
