Premier League giants Manchester United have reportedly made contact with Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot over a possible summer move.

According to Calciomercato, Manchester United have established contact with Adrien Rabiot’s entourage over a possible summer move from Juventus. The Red Devils are set to begin a new era under Erik ten Hag and adding midfield reinforcements is one of their priorities this summer.

Rabiot has been with the Bianconer since his free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2019. The Frenchman has been a regular over the three seasons he has spent with Juventus, making a total of 129 appearances for them, scoring six goals and assisting as many times from central midfield.

Even though he started 28 of the Bianconeri’s Serie A games this season, the club do not consider him ‘non-transferable’ and are ready to listen to offers of around €15 million for him. The Frenchman will have just a year remaining on his Juventus contract after this month, but the club will only open contract talks with him if he stays beyond the summer transfer window.

The former PSG man is not short of options either, with multiple clubs keeping tabs on his situation. The 27-year-old’s mother, Veronique Rabiot, who is also his agent, reportedly wants to ‘mend relations’ with PSG and is exploring the possibility of a possible return.

But it is from the Premier League where serious interest seems to be coming. Chelsea are one of the clubs interested in the midfielder, but they will first need to sort out the futures of the midfielders currently in their squad before adding reinforcements.

The futures of both Jorginho and N’Golo Kante have been hot topics of discussion recently, with little clarity over where the duo will spend their next season. Chelsea will thus have to wait it out before making their move. Juventus are reportedly plotting a move which could see Jorginho return to Italy, with Rabiot being a part of the deal.

Manchester United, who are losing both Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic this summer, are in desperate need of midfield reinforcements. They have approached Rabiot’s entourage, and Juventus reportedly have no problem with it. Rabiot, who could command a transfer fee in the region of €15 million, is yet to make a decision.
