Tottenham starlet Bryan Gil contacted by Real Sociedad

Tottenham Hotspur starlet Bryan Gil has emerged as a loan target for La Liga side Real Sociedad, who are in contact with the promising winger.

According to Mundo Deportivo, La Liga outfit Real Sociedad have made contact with Tottenham Hotspur starlet Bryan Gil over a potential move in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Gil came through the youth ranks at Sevilla and moved to Tottenham last summer after an impressive loan spell away at SD Eibar. The 21-year-old cost the north London club €25 million while they also sent Erik Lamela to Sevilla as part of the deal. However, given his young age and lack of experience, the 21-year-old was not thrust into the thick of things immediately upon his arrival in England.

Indeed, Gil made just 20 appearances over the first half of the campaign, in which he had no goals and one assist. However, manager Antonio Conte felt that going away on loan might benefit the youngster, which is why he joined Valencia temporarily during the January window.

Gil enjoyed a decent spell at the Mestalla but is now set to return to Tottenham, where his future will be in limbo yet again. Spurs are pushing to make Dejan Kulusevski’s move permanent and are on the lookout for Adama Traore as well, meaning that the 21-year-old Gil is unlikely to find a place in Conte’s plans for next season either.

As a result, another loan move could be on the cards for the Spanish international, with Real Sociedad presenting themselves as a possible option for the youngster.

Real Sociedad are on the lookout for wide players in the market as Adnan Januzaj is leaving when his contract expires later this month. In addition, Mikel Oyarzabal has suffered a serious knee injury and is unlikely to be available for a large chunk of the first half of the upcoming season.

Hence, La Real need to sign a new winger, with Bryan Gil emerging as a loan target, while they are also looking at Cristian Tello, who will be available for free in the summer. The report adds that Real Sociedad have contacted the Tottenham starlet and presented him with an offer over a possible move.

However, Gil has other proposals on the table, along with one from Valencia. While he is open to the prospect of joining Sociedad for next season, the youngster will see what plans Conte has for him before deciding on his next move.
