Leeds United are reportedly on the verge of signing Rasmus Kristensen from Red Bull Salzburg, who could accept the Whites’ €10 million opening offer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Leeds United are closing in on signing Red Bull Salzburg right-back Rasmus Kristensen in the next few days. The Austrian giants are expected to approve the €10 million offer presented by the Whites, with the Danish right-back set to be the second player in the window moving between the two clubs.

Leeds United are a club in a hurry to set themselves up for the 2022/23 season. After a difficult campaign with many ups and downs, the West Yorkshire outfit became the late survivors in the Premier League’s relegation battle. Burnley’s loss on the final day ensured the Whites stayed up in the top-flight, and now Jesse Marsch wants the mistakes rectified.

The squad had plenty of problems regarding injuries to important players who did not play a chunk of games during the season. That cost Leeds many important results and points, and Marsch is keen to strengthen the team in the summer transfer window. While plenty of areas need reinforcing, Leeds have already begun their work for the summer.

They have already agreed on a deal with Red Bull Salzburg for American midfielder Brenden Aaronson and are now on the verge of signing another player from the Austrian club.

Marsch wanted to sign a new right-back after losing Stuart Dallas to a long-term injury. The Leeds manager wants to add decent competition in the position and wants someone who could do well in the final third.

Hence, the American tactician has identified Rasmus Kristensen as the player to come to Elland Road and become a key member for Leeds next season. The Danish right-back’s numbers were impressive in the previous campaign, with the right-back netting ten goals and providing eight assists in all competitions.

Those numbers could significantly diminish in the Premier League, but they still signal the kind of player Leeds are getting. Kristensen is an attacking full-back who is a sharp operator in the final third. He would massively suit Leeds United, who greatly value an attacking full-back.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Leeds had submitted an opening offer worth €10 million, which Salzburg are set to accept. Meanwhile, Kristensen has reportedly agreed personal terms with the Premier League outfit, which could allow things to conclude smoothly from here on.

From how things look, a transfer could be very close to completion, and an announcement could be made in the next few days. Leeds can now look forward to improving other areas as they have secured a much-required midfielder and an attacking full-back early in the summer.
