Reputed Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that Real Madrid will not pursue a move for 25-year-old Brazilian international Richarlison.

According to reputed Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Richarlison will not join Real Madrid in the summer transfer window. The Spanish giants are prioritising signing Aurelien Tchouameni ahead of the 2022/23 season and will look to sign an attacker who can deputise for Karim Benzema.

Richarlison has been a revelation since moving to England in August 2017 by joining Watford. The Brazilian international spent one year at Vicarage Road before signing for Everton in July 2018, and his stock has risen significantly in the last four years.

While the Toffees have been considerably inconsistent during the 25-year-old’s at Goodison Park, his performance levels have remained high. Richarlison also played a pivotal role by scoring ten goals and providing five assists in 30 appearances as Everton staved off relegation from the Premier League. And the player’s exploits have earned him widespread links with Real Madrid.

Real Madrid will delve into the market for at least one attacking reinforcement in the summer transfer window, with Gareth Bale set to depart from the Santiago Bernabeu as a free agent. The Welsh international’s exit will leave Carlo Ancelotti with a spot to fill in his squad, and he wanted to sign Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain.

But the French forward snubbed Real Madrid to remain at PSG, prompting Los Blancos to scour the market for alternatives. To that end, Richarlison is a viable target for Real Madrid, with the Brazilian international’s versatility making him an attractive proposition.

With Ancelotti familiar with the 25-year-old’s strengths, settling down at the Santiago Bernabeu might not be a big task. But Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that Real Madrid will not pursue Richarlison in the summer transfer window, with the Merengues prioritising other signings.

Aurelien Tchouameni is the priority target for Real Madrid this summer, with Los Blancos closing in on signing him from AS Monaco. After landing Tchouameni, Real Madrid will focus on bringing in a backup for Karim Benzema, with Luka Jovic and Mariano Diaz surplus to requirements. So a move for Richarlison might not see the light of day.
