Liverpool are ready to rival Everton in the race to sign Red Bull Bragantino whizkid Eric Ramires.

According to a report from Jorge Nicola (h/t Sport Witness), Liverpool have entered the fray to sign Eric Ramires. The Red Bull Bragantino midfielder is a man in demand following his impressive performances in the Brazilian top flight, with many expecting him to earn a move to Europe this summer.

Everton have closely linked with a move for Ramires, but the report from Jorge Nicola refutes such speculations. In fact, it is claimed that Toffees have never made any contact with Bragantino over the transfer of Ramires, and it is their arch-rivals Liverpool, who might be leading the race to sign the youngster.

A central midfielder by trade, Ramires has been one of the rising stars in the Brazilian league over the past few years, especially after his breakthrough campaign in 2020. With 86 competitive appearances for RB Bragantino, the 21-year-old has made quite an impression with his energy and skill in the middle of the park.

The youngster is indeed an exciting operator who is versatile enough to operate either as a holding midfielder or a central midfielder. He can even operate as a number ten, offering creativity and energy in the middle of the park.

Ramires’ qualities in midfield have made him an appealing target for Liverpool. The Reds are bracing themselves for a busy summer ahead, with Jurgen Klopp particularly looking to bring in fresh faces in the midfield unit. The club have recently confirmed the capture of Fulham number ten Fabio Carvalho and he could be the first of many to come through the door.

At Anfield, Eric Ramires could prove to be an ideal replacement for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The former Arsenal starlet clearly does not have any future at Liverpool and has been linked with a move to West Ham United and Aston Villa.

Liverpool have been in frequent contact with Red Bull Brangantino to explore the possibility of a move. The Reds, though, are facing a few roadblocks in their pursuit of Ramires. While Everton might still be involved in the chase, the main problem could be the player’s valuation, as RB Bragantino have no intention to offload their prized asset on a cut-price deal.
