La Liga clubs Elche, Espanyol and Real Sociedad are reportedly keen on signing Spanish attacker Alex Collado from Barcelona this summer.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Alex Collado faces an uncertain future at FC Barcelona heading into the summer transfer window. A move across La Liga could be on the cards for the Spanish attacker, with Elche, Espanyol, and Real Sociedad keen on securing his services.

Alex Collado spent his formative years with three different Spanish clubs before graduating from Barcelona’s famed academy La Masia in 2018. The 23-year-old was one of the most promising young prospects in Spain during his teenage years while captaining the Catalan club’s reserve team.

Collado made his first-team debut for Barcelona in May 2019 but has managed only one more appearance for the Blaugrana since then. While the young attacker has excelled for Barcelona B, first-team opportunities have not been forthcoming.

The Spanish forward joined Granada on loan in the January transfer window but endured a mixed bag of a spell, chipping in with two goals and one assist in 17 La Liga appearances. But Collado could not help the Nazaries stave off relegation from the Spanish top flight, with the Andalusian outfit claiming an 18th-placed finish.

Collado will return to Barcelona in the summer transfer window, but his long-term future remains up in the air amid the squad evolution at Camp Nou. While Ousmane Dembele’s uncertain future might give the 23-year-old attacker a glimmer of hope, Barcelona’s search for a replacement leaves Collado in limbo in Catalonia.

But the Spaniard has no shortage of suitors, with three La Liga clubs – Elche, Espanyol and Real Sociedad – keen on signing him in the summer transfer window. Elche could be the ideal fit due to the system in place at the club. But a return to Espanyol might be on the cards due to his familiarity in Catalonia for Collado.

Meanwhile, playing for Real Sociedad could be too good an opportunity to turn down following the departures of Adnan Januzaj and former Raphinha utility man Raphinha. Collado will likely be eager to seek clarity on his long-term future, and he could leave Barcelona this summer.
