Real Madrid might have to brace themselves to face a hijack from Paris Saint-Germain in pursuit of Aurelien Tchouameni, also a target for Liverpool.

According to reputed French journalist Santi Aouna, PSG could offer a higher sum than Liverpool and Real Madrid to secure the services of Aurelien Tchouameni in the summer transfer window. The Spanish giants currently lead the race to sign the AS Monaco midfielder, with Liverpool ready to intensify their efforts after the UEFA Champions League final.

Aurelien Tchouameni has become one of the hottest properties in Europe since joining AS Monaco in January 2020. The French international has popped up on the radars of practically every high profile club in the big five leagues, with Real Madrid, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain currently the front-runners in his pursuit.

The 22-year-old has turned out 95 times for the Ligue 1 outfit in the last two and a half years, establishing himself as one of the best young midfielders in Europe. And with Real Madrid, Liverpool and PSG hot on his trail, Tchouameni could leave AS Monaco in the summer transfer window.

Tchouameni is reportedly the priority target for Real Madrid for the summer transfer window, more so after Los Blancos’ inability to land Kylian Mbappe in a Bosman move. With funds available in abundance, Real Madrid can afford to shell out the big bucks to land the French midfielder, who could be Casemiro’s long-term successor.

Meanwhile, Liverpool could do with the injection of youth by signing Tchouameni, with James Milner in the twilight of his career. In addition, Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara are on the wrong side of 30. Tchouameni has thus emerged as a viable target for Liverpool, with the Reds ready to step up their efforts to sign him after the UEFA Champions League final.

As for PSG, the midfield unit has been the Achilles heel for Les Parisiens in the last few years. And while Idrissa Gueye has been a reliable performer, he is on the wrong side of 30, just like Danilo Pereira, Ander Herrera and former Liverpool star Georginio Wijnaldum. Tchouameni is thus an option worth considering for PSG, who are ready to steal a march on Real Madrid and Liverpool for the 22-year-old.
