Everton and Crystal Palace are reportedly eyeing a summer move for 22-year-old Salernitana midfielder Ederson Silva.

According to a report from Football Insider, Ederson Silva’s cameo in the second half of the season has put a number of clubs on alert. The 22-year-old Salernitana midfielder is courted by Premier League clubs as well, with Everton and Crystal Palace among the teams in contention to snap him up in the summer.

Formerly of Corinthians, Ederson Silva joined Salernitana in January for a fee of €6.5 million. He was brought in to add more quality to the club’s midfield unit which was struggling at the moment. And the Brazilian midfielder did not disappoint either, instantly becoming a hit in Serie A, thanks to a series of consistent performances.

A central midfielder by trade, the 22-year-old made a solid impression with his aggression and dynamism, coupled with his driving runs forward. His qualities in the middle of the park sparked life into the Salernitana midfield, ultimately helping them make an astonishing late-season recovery to preserve their status in the top flight.

Ederson’s future at Salernitana, though, could be under doubt, with multiple clubs taking note of his impressive performances in Serie A. It appears many are now convinced of the Brazilian’s qualities and believe he has what it takes to perform more consistently.

It has made him an appealing target for a club like Crystal Palace. The Eagles are bracing themselves for life without Conor Gallagher in the new season, with the Englishman set to return to Chelsea. Ederson, in that regard, could be an ideal replacement for Gallagher, although Crystal Palace have also been in contention to sign Joe Aribo from Rangers.

Another club keeping close tabs on Ederson Silva are Everton. After narrowly escaping relegation, coach Frank Lampard is keen on adding real quality to the Everton squad, especially in the midfield unit that has struggled with injuries and lack of form.

The Toffees have been linked with a move for Sporting CP sensation Matheus Nunes, but his hefty price tag has ruled them out of the chase. Ederson Silva, to that end, could be a far more reasonable option for Everton and at the age of just 22, the Brazilian midfielder offers prospects for the future, making him a potential bargain for the Merseyside giants this summer, although Crystal Palace might have something to say about the matter.
