Chelsea could reluctantly entertain offers for Jorginho in the summer with the midfielder entering the last year of his deal.

According to Fichajes, Jorginho is among players for whom Chelsea could listen to offers in the summer window. With the Italian international entering the final year of his deal, the Blues could reluctantly entertain proposals as they risk losing him on a free transfer in 2023.

Chelsea have had a few difficult months of late, with the government sanctions, the change of ownership, and the tension building with many first-team stars on the verge of departure. The uncertainty with the squad is building pressure on Thomas Tuchel and the incoming owners.

Chelsea are about to lose three of their first-choice defenders, with Antonio Rudiger leaving for Real Madrid while Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta are likely to join Barcelona. There are also whispers of Marcos Alonso walking through the door, with a return to La Liga high on the cards.

This level of uncertainty has now transcended into their midfield, with three first-team stars potentially departing Chelsea due to multiple issues. The Blues have been sloppy with contract negotiations, where they are otherwise known to protect player values. A look at the current contracts of Jorginho and N’Golo Kante signals danger as the midfielders are set to enter the final year of their respective deals.

Jorginho, in particular, has been strongly linked with a move away with Juventus chasing the Italy international. The Old Lady have been planning to revamp their central midfield options and have identified the Chelsea star to marshall the side next season. The midfield mainstay could be open to a return to Italy, and Chelsea could be open to offers with Juventus ready to offer players in part exchange.

Chelsea may reluctantly listen to offers for Jorginho. The 30-year-old will enter the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge and could leave on a free transfer in 2023. Tuchel had been counting on the midfielder for next season, and news that the club are willing to consider offers may shock the German tactician.

A return to Italy may be considered a comfortable option, although the contract offered by Juventus may have a big influence on Jorginho’s final decision. Other teams, such as Barcelona and PSG, are keeping tabs on his situation, meaning Jorginho may not have a shortage of options if he decides to leave.

The upcoming window was always going to be challenging for Chelsea, and the idea of finding a suitable replacement for Jorginho may add to their problems. Replacing the Italian will be a massive task for the Blues, who may find it difficult to strengthen their defence and midfield in equal measure.
