Serie A giants Juventus are reportedly ready to rival Tottenham in the race to sign in-demand Eintracht Frankfurt wide man Filip Kostic.

According to a report from Gazzetta Dello Sport, Filip Kostic is increasingly becoming one of the most sought-after players in the transfer market. The Eintracht Frankfurt winger was close to joining Lazio last summer, but his success in the Bundesliga and in the UEFA Europa League could help him land a bigger club this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur have already sounded out a move for the 29-year-old Serbian international at the end of the season. But it appears the Premier League giants are set to face fresh competition from Juventus in the pursuit of the Frankfurt star this summer.

The Serie A giants are hoping to add real quality to their attacking unit after enduring a trophyless campaign under Massimiliano Allegri. Juventus are already the favourites to sign Paris Saint-Germain superstar Angel Di Maria on a free transfer, but it appears Allegri wants to upgrade his options on the left flank as well.

Although Filip Kostic is a winger by trade, he could prove to be an ideal option at left-back for Juventus. The 29-year-old Serbian wide man has played as a wing-back for the majority of his spell at Frankfurt, and in Turin, he could turn out to be an ideal upgrade over Alex Sandro, who has endured a rapid fall from grace in recent years.

Tottenham, meanwhile, are targeting the Eintracht Frankfurt star as a direct replacement for Sergio Reguilon. The Spaniard has struggled with form and consistency during his time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with coach Antonio Conte reportedly open to offloading him at the end of the season.

Kostic’s ability to whip in crosses into the box could serve as an ideal prospect for Tottenham striker Harry Kane or even Juventus’s Dusan Vlahovic, who is known for his aerial prowess and movements inside the box.

Luring the Serb away from Eintracht Frankfurt, though, could be a tricky task for both Tottenham and Juventus. Given the club’s recent success, the 29-year-old attacker could consider remaining in the Bundesliga for at least another season. A lot could depend on Eintracht, as the Eagles could offload the wide man in the coming summer, considering his contract expires in 2023.
