Liverpool have joined the race for Ibrahim Sangare, as PSV demand clubs meet his €37.5 million release clause.

According to Voetbal International, Liverpool have joined in the chase for Ibrahim Sangare as the in-demand midfielder looks to take the next step in his career this summer.

PSV Einthoven could brace themselves for offers for some of their high-profile stars in the summer. Ibrahim Sangare and Cody Gakpo are two of their players who could depart the club following persisting interest from Premier League sides.

Arsenal are keen on Gakpo, among other teams, while Sangare’s qualities are attracting a host of clubs. The player’s fitness and the ability to hold the fort down in the central areas have made clubs keen on signing him.

Aston Villa and Newcastle United are among the sides interested, with Liverpool now joining them.

Newcastle United are keen on the midfielder to come into the side and provide a solid base for their team next season. Having signed Bruno Guimaraes in January, they want another quality option to complete their plans for the next term.

Chelsea are also keen, while there’s mild interest from West Ham United and Aston Villa in the midfielder.

Villa are keen to add quality to their midfield and do not want to rely on Douglas Luiz for the whole season. Moreover, the Brazilian could leave the club if a reliable offer comes in the summer, as his contract expires next year.

Now, it seems like Liverpool have joined the race for Sangare. The Reds are in the market for a new midfielder as they might look to ease the burden on Fabinho, who signed a new deal earlier this year. A defensive midfielder is deemed necessary for the club to progress in the future, and Sangare could be the ideal choice.

Liverpool had been interested in Aurelien Tchouameni, but the Frenchman’s asking price may push them to look for alternatives. Sangare is considered the closest player with similar attributes to the AS Monaco star.

PSV have a €37.5 million clause in Sangare’s contract that expires in 2025. The Dutch side are in no hurry to sanction a sale of their midfielder and will not accept bids lower than the release clause amount.

The €37.5 million price tag may not be a problem for the Reds as they might look at Sangare as a long-term solution to their midfield. Whether their interest in the PSV star is genuine could be revealed after a few weeks. But there are no doubts he would be a solid addition to Jurgen Klopp’s side and can grow into a vital part of the team, much like January signing Luis Diaz.

Boubacar Kamara on a free, freeing up transfer funds for elsewhere, but giving us cover/competition for Fabinho, and a potential fifth centre back in one, without needing 5 centre backs.

The midfielder should be signed by Newcastle United
