Newcastle United are reportedly facing competition from PSG, Benfica and Bayern Munich in the pursuit of Sasa Kalajdzic.

A recent report from Kicker has offered a valuable update on the future of Sasa Kalajdzic. Despite retaining their Bundesliga status with a sensational rescue act in the last game, Stuttgart are expected to lose a few star players in the team, and the list is headed by their star striker Kalajdzic.

The report indicates Newcastle United as one of the parties involved in the race to sign the 24-year-old forward. But the Magpies are set to face stiff competition from major clubs across Europe, like Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and even SL Benfica. Kalajdzic looked to be bidding goodbye to the Stuttgart fans after the final match of the Bundesliga season, and it appears the Swabians could offload the player if they receive a bid of around €25 million.

Kicker has zeroed in on Bayern Munich’s interest, with the Bavarians reportedly considering Kalajdzic as an ideal replacement for Robert Lewandowski. The Polish international has recently confirmed his desire to leave the club at the end of the season, with many expecting him to join FC Barcelona in the new season.

Kalajdzic himself is believed to be keen on joining Bayern Munich, although Stuttgart sporting director Sven Mislintat has denied rumours of any offers from the Bavarians.

Another club keeping close tabs on the situation of the Stuttgart attacker are PSG. With Kylian Mbappe likely to join Real Madrid, the Parisian juggernaut want to sign a reliable goalscorer who can complement talented creators like Lionel Messi and Neymar.

The interest from Bayern Munich and PSG, though, has compounded the problem for Newcastle United. The Magpies are the only real Premier League club who have shown the desire to sign the 24-year-old Austrian international, whose physical and aerial superiority inside the box makes him a potential upgrade over Chris Wood.

Newcastle remain the favourites to sign Hugo Ekitike in the summer. But they want to add a competitor for the Reims forward and that is where Sasa Kalajdzic could prove to be an excellent option.

However, with Bayern Munich reportedly ready to incorporate him as the replacement for none other than Lewandowski, it will be difficult to imagine Kalajdzic opting for a move to Newcastle United or even PSG, as he looks to take the next step in his career in the Bundesliga.
