La Liga giants Sevilla are reportedly ready to enter into a transfer race with Manchester United in the pursuit of Feyenoord left-back Tyrell Malacia.

As per a report by Calciomercato, Feyenoord’s 22-year-old left-back Tyrell Malacia is the subject of a transfer tug-of-war between Manchester United and Sevilla. Both clubs are admirers of the Dutch defender and could make a summer move for him.

Malacia, a Feyenoord youth product, was first promoted to the club’s first team in the 2017/18 season and has since grown into a regular starter for the Dutch side. The 22-year-old has made 134 appearances for the club so far, scoring four times and assisting ten goals.

This season, he has been especially impressive, playing a vital role in their run to the UEFA Europa Conference League final. In all, the Dutch left-back has played 48 matches for Feyenoord this season, scoring once and assisting five times. A strong tackler, Malacia is attracting interest from all over Europe, with Sevilla and Manchester United showing special interest.

Manchester United have endured a horrible season and are set for a major summer overhaul under incoming manager Erik ten Hag. The Dutch tactician has a huge task at hand of rescuing a sinking ship with things going from bad to worse for the English giants.

Left-back will be one of the many positions Manchester United will want to fill in this summer. Luke Shaw has endured an injury-ravaged season, while Alex Telles has struggled massively, meaning Red Devils are thus eager to add reinforcements this summer.

While Manchester United could decide to show faith in Shaw, with reports claiming a new contract is on the cards, it looks unlikely that Telles will continue to be a starter next season as well. Thus, signing a left-back is one of the priorities for the club, and Malacia is one player they are pursuing.

Sevilla, on other hand, have had a great season and look set to finish third in the La Liga table. They currently have two left-back options in Marcos Acuna and Ludwig Augustinsson but are eager to add a younger option with Malacia on their wishlist.
