Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard is reportedly in discussions with Newcastle United and Paris Saint-Germain over a potential summer move.

The Daily Mail report that Jesse Lingard is actively looking for his next destination as he prepares for a summer move away from Manchester United. The English attackers is in talks with Newcastle United and Paris Saint-Germain, among other clubs.

The likes of AC Milan and Juventus are also in discussions with the Manchester United attacker’s entourage over a possible move.

The English international has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford and is looking for greener pastures in the hope that he can get in the reckoning for a spot in Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad later this year. Lingard was close to joining Newcastle in the January window earlier this year, but Manchester United reportedly did not sanction the move as their demands were not met.

Lingard spent the second half of the 2020/21 season on loan at West Ham United after game time dried out at Manchester United, scoring nine and assisting five goals in the Premier League for the Hammers. The Red Devils gave the 29-year-old assurances that he would be given more minutes in the 2021/22 campaign, but that has not happened.

Lingard turned down multiple loan offers to stay put at Manchester United but has made just 16 league appearances, most of which have come from the bench. With his contract coming to an end this summer, he is now eager to make a switch and is reportedly in advanced talks with two of the four clubs – Newcastle United, PSG, AC Milan and Juventus.

Newcastle United, who had shown serious interest in the English international in January, are back in the market for him. But they will have to face stiff competition from the likes of PSG, AC Milan and Juventus.

The arrival of new owners, and the chance to stay in England to remain in contention for a World Cup berth make Newcastle United an exciting prospect for Lingard. It remains to be seen which club can eventually manage to land the Manchester United attacker this summer.
