Manchester United are reportedly ahead in the race for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, with Arsenal and Newcastle United also chasing the Nigerian.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Manchester United are leading the chase for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, with president Aurelio De Laurentiis willing to listen to offers exceeding €100 million in the summer. Arsenal and Newcastle United are also keen on signing the Nigerian striker.

Victor Osimhen is attracting plenty of interest from the Premier League, with several clubs keen on the Nigerian forward. Napoli were initially unwilling to entertain offers, but their stance could change in the summer if suitors cough up the required transfer fee.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has been aware of the widespread interest in the forward and has resisted approaches from the Premier League so far. De Laurentiis is not willing to entertain offers if teams cannot pay in excess of €100 million in the summer window.

The Napoli chief is citing the offer made by Newcastle United in January and would consider it a benchmark for suitors to follow. Manchester United and Arsenal have been quoted similar price tag to ward off interest.

It is reported that Manchester United are ahead of the pack in the chase for the Nigerian forward. Osimhen is reportedly keen on moving to England and will have a number of offers on the table during the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils have a path ready for the future after appointing Erik ten Hag as their next manager. Manchester United want Osimhen to replace Cristiano Ronaldo and could be willing to make a suitable proposal in the next window.

Their financial power over other interested clubs puts Manchester United ahead of the chasing pack, although there could be a way for Arsenal to ensure they lead the race in the coming weeks. The Gunners are already linked with Gabriel Jesus and could make another headline signing in addition to the Brazilian.

Arsenal are likely to qualify for the UEFA Champions League, and this could be a factor in attracting top talents in the summer. The same goes for Osimhen, who may prefer to play in the top continental tournament. Mikel Arteta is keen on signing a striker with the profile of the Nigerian. Although finances could pose a problem, the Gunners will look to work a deal out.
