Arsenal could be in with an opportunity to sign Everton forward Richarlison, who is keen on leaving Goodison Park.

According to Dean Jones on Give Me Sport, Richarlison’s representatives have informed Everton of his desire to leave the club at the end of the season. The Merseyside outfit are likely to cash in on the 24-year-old Brazilian international this summer, with Arsenal emerging as one of the potential suitors.

There is no secret that Mikel Arteta is keen on reinforcing his attacking options after the end of the season. The Gunners parted ways with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January, and there is every chance Alexandre Lacazette may leave Arsenal as well, amid interest from Barcelona and former club Lyon.

Even Eddie Nketiah is in contention to leave Arsenal, leaving Arteta with no goalscoring options up front. In an attempt to mitigate the crisis, Arsenal are scouring the market for a new goalscorer who can add the productivity in the final third and help the club restore its lost glory in the coming years.

Arsenal were linked with a move for Dusan Vlahovic in January, but the Serb opted to join Juventus. It has prompted Arteta to consider other options in the market. The Spaniard has already set his sights on Manchester City’s wantaway forward Gabriel Jesus, with a £35 million offer reportedly on the cards.

But in Richarlison, Arsenal could find themselves one of England’s top-rated forwards who has shown a lot of promise at Goodison Park over the last couple of years. Since joining the club, the Brazilian international has racked up 50 goals for the club in 147 competitive appearances.

Even in the midst of a poor season at Everton, the former Watford man has emerged as one of the rare bright sparks, scoring seven goals while mustering four assists. The 24-year-old’s productivity has been crucial in Everton’s bid to save the wrath of relegation as we head towards the final phase of the campaign. It has also made him an appealing target for Arsenal.

For a side that relies heavily on technicality and positioning, Richarlison’s physical and aerial presence in the final third, coupled with his ability to feature out wide, could certainly add a new element to Arsenal’s attacking game next season, making him an ideal coup for Mikel Arteta.
