According to a report by Italian outlet Calciomercato, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are not alone in the race to sign Aurelien Tchouameni in the summer transfer window. The two European bigwigs face stiff competition from Tottenham Hotspur in the pursuit of the AS Monaco midfielder.
Aurelien Tchouameni has established himself as one of the hottest properties in the market since joining AS Monaco in January 2020. Over the last two years, the 22-year-old has inarguably been among the best midfielders in Europe while also carving a spot for himself in the French national side.
Tchouameni has enjoyed a solid 2021/22 campaign, turning out 46 times across all competitions for AS Monaco while chipping in with three goals and two assists. The player’s progress has not gone unnoticed, with some of the most high profile clubs in Europe, including Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Tottenham, setting their sights on him.
The interest from Real Madrid stems from the advancing years of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, as well as the fact that Casemiro does not have a viable backup to him in the first-team setup at the Santiago Bernabeu. Tchouameni is thus a viable target for Real Madrid, with talks between the two parties reaching an advanced stage.
