Kylian Mbappe is reportedly demanding €100 million more than the terms agreed with Real Madrid to complete a Bosman move to the Bernabeu.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Partidazo de COPE, Kylian Mbappe’s proposed Bosman move to Real Madrid in the summer transfer window is in jeopardy. The French attacker is demanding a total package worth €100 million more than the term agreed between the two parties, with Los Blancos unwilling to pay a higher sum.

Kylian Mbappe is inarguably one of the most eye-catching footballers in Europe, having taken the game by storm since breaking out at AS Monaco over half a decade ago. The 23-year-old has gone from strength to strength since joining Paris Saint-Germain nearly five years back and has been their most reliable performer in this period.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has enjoyed an excellent 2021/22 campaign, amassing 33 goals and 22 assists in 41 appearances thus far. But Mbappe will likely leave PSG as a free agent in the summer transfer window, with his contract running out in a few months. Such a situation has captured the attention of Real Madrid.

The Spanish giants hold a long-standing interest in Mbappe, once even producing a statement in 2018 to deny pursuing him. Real Madrid’s eagerness to sign the French international has only grown stronger in the past four years, and they attempted to sign him for a nine-figure sum last summer.

After failing to land Mbappe last year, the Merengues have attempted to belatedly sign him in a Bosman move this year. Real Madrid could offer Mbappe a bumper contract worth €50 million per year, which would make him one of the world’s highest-paid players.

Mbappe could be the long-sought Cristiano Ronaldo replacement at Real Madrid, but PSG will be desperately attempting to secure his long-term future, with French President Emmanuel Macron also involved. And now Real Madrid’s hopes of landing Mbappe in a Bosman move have taken a hit, with the player demanding €100 million more than the package initially agreed by the two parties.

The Spanish giants have no intention of paying the additional €100 million sum, with their refusal giving PSG renewed hope of tying Mbappe to a new contract. It will be interesting to see if Real Madrid and PSG can reach an agreement over a free transfer or if Les Parisiens pounce and keep hold of their prized asset.
