Arsenal have joined Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur in the list of clubs interested in Nicolo Zaniolo this summer.

A recent report from Fichajes has offered an update on the future of Nicolo Zaniolo. The playmaker is valued extremely highly by AS Roma, who are hoping to tie him down to a new contract in the summer transfer window. The Giallorossi, though, are facing issues due to strong interest from a host of top clubs across Europe, including Premier League trifecta Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United.

All the three English clubs are keeping close tabs on Zaniolo’s development at AS Roma, with a summer move potentially on the sights. Roma are set to make the operation far more difficult as they value the playmaker at around €60 million. Their asking fee could increase further if they can convince the player to sign a contract extension by the end of the season.

An attacking midfielder by trade, Zaniolo’s current deal at Roma expires in 2024. His career in the Italian capital has been largely marred by injuries. But he has been able to play consistently this season, becoming a crucial member of Roma’s creative outlet. He has already been involved in 15 goals in all competitions this term, seven of which have come in the UEFA Conference League.

Zaniolo’s contributions in the final third have been critical in helping the Giallorossi reach the semi-final of the newly-implemented competition. At the same time, it has helped him increase his value amid interest from a host of clubs across Europe.

Manchester United, for one, are courting the Italian international as a potential creative reinforcement. The Red Devils are bracing themselves for the exit of Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata this summer, with the latter being linked with a move to Roma’s Serie A rivals AC Milan and Inter Milan.

Tottenham, meanwhile, are considering a move for Zaniolo as Antonio Conte looks to shore up his creative department next season. The Lilywhites, though, may have a cost-effective alternative in the form of Christian Eriksen, who may not continue at Brentford amid interest from his former club.

Arsenal too have now entered the fray to sign the Italian international. The Gunners have been monitoring the progress of Zaniolo for quite a while now. The Italian’s creativity, coupled with his versatility and technical prowess in the final third could make him an ideal asset for Mikel Arteta next season.

However, it remains to be seen whether any of these three clubs are willing to spend around €60 million to sign Zaniolo. Despite all his talents, the Italian does have a questionable fitness record, which may play a key role in hindering a potential move to England this summer.
