Real Madrid will reportedly wage a transfer battle to sign Mexican forward Hirving Lozano, valued at €35 million by Serie A giants Napoli.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Hirving Lozano is the subject of interest from Real Madrid over a possible move in the summer transfer window. Also a target for Sevilla and Inter Milan, the Mexican forward is valued at around €35 million by Serie A giants Napoli.

Hirving Lozano joined Napoli from PSV Eindhoven in August 2019 and has since blown hot and cold at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium. While the 26-year-old has shown some promising signs over the last three years, it has now always been backed by the desired output, as has been the case in the ongoing campaign.

The Mexican international has a sub-par tally of five goals and four assists in 32 appearances across all competitions for Napoli this term. And the Serie A giants are looking to cash in on Lozano in the summer transfer window by slapping a €35 million price tag on him. Such a situation has captured the attention of Real Madrid.

Real Madrid will delve into the market for attacking reinforcements in the summer transfer window amid rising uncertainties surrounding several players. While Kylian Mbappe will essentially replace Gareth Bale, Real Madrid might need to bring in replacements for other unsettled players like Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio.

So even though the Merengues are pulling out all the stops to secure the services of Mbappe, they will also need to focus on other issues, bringing Lozano into the picture. But Real Madrid will have to fend off stiff competition from La Liga rivals Sevilla and Serie A champions Inter Milan to land the 26-year-old.

In such a scenario, Real Madrid will do well to have alternate options on their radar, with Arnaut Danjuma one such player on their wishlist. As for the pursuit of Lozano, Napoli will demand around €35 million to part with the Mexican international.

With the race to sign the player heating up, it will be interesting to see which way the scales tip as we come closer to the reopening of the transfer window in the summer. For now, Lozano has emerged as a target for Real Madrid, with a few other European bigwigs also tailing him.
