Liverpool are reportedly interested in Domenico Berardi while facing plenty of competition for the 27-year-old Italian international.

According to Fichajes, Liverpool are ready to enter the chase for Domenico Berardi ahead of a possible approach in the summer transfer window. The Reds face tough competition for the 27-year-old Italian international, with clubs from England and Europe ready to swoop in for the Sassuolo forward.

Domenico Berardi might have been playing at a big club this season had it not been for Sassuolo’s decision to keep hold of the winger last summer. The Serie A outfit were on the verge of losing Manuel Locatelli to Juventus and did not want to see two of their best players depart in the same window.

Berardi could leave Sassuolo in the upcoming window, as he considers a new challenge to further his career. The 27-year-old Italian international may want a task away from Italy, with the Premier League considered his preferred destination should he leave the Serie A club.

Arsenal and Leicester City are already linked with a move, while there have been rumours of possible interest from Real Madrid over in Spain. However, it seems like Berardi is prepared to wait for more offers before taking a firm decision on his future.

Sassuolo are happy to sell if their demands are met and considering Berardi will have two years left on his deal when the season ends, a transfer looks imminent. Liverpool are credited with interest after reports suggested Jurgen Klopp is on the lookout for a new right-winger.

Bayern Munich’s Serge Gnabry has been mentioned as a possible target, considering his contract situation in Germany. There are others on Liverpool’s radar. But considering Berardi’s experience in the position, the 27-year-old Italian international could be the cheaper alternative to becoming a quality squad option.

Despite early rumours of an imminent exit, it does seem like Mohamed Salah could be staying at Liverpool, as he is reportedly ready to sign the new deal proposed by the Reds. Irrespective of what transpires with the Egyptian, Klopp would want a new right-sided player in the Liverpool squad ahead of next season as he looks to improve the squad’s depth.

As for Berardi, he will have to make a firm decision based on where he may play regularly. Teams like Liverpool, Leicester City and Arsenal have been mentioned as suitors from the Premier League, although only the Foxes could afford to include him in the starting team sheet every week.
