Bayern Munich will  reportedly provide stiff competition to Real Madrid and Liverpool in the race to sign Benjamin Sesko in the summer.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Benjamin Sesko is the subject of interest from Bayern Munich over a possible move in the summer transfer window. The Red Bull Salzburg forward is also a target for Real Madrid and Liverpool.

Benjamin Sesko has made significant progress since joining Red Bull Salzburg from NK Domzale in July 2019. The Slovenian prodigy initially went out on loan to sister club FC Liefering before returning to the Red Bull Arena last summer. And while he has not established himself as the first-choice striker for the Austrian giants, the player has still been impressive with his performances.

The 18-year-old has a solid tally of nine goals and seven assists in 30 appearances across all competitions, directly contributing to a striker every 81 minutes. Sesko’s progress has not gone unnoticed, with some of the biggest clubs in Europe, including Real Madrid, Liverpool, and Bayern Munich, setting their sights on him.

The interest from Real Madrid stems from the rampant uncertainties surrounding the futures of Luka Jovic and Mariano Diaz. The two out-of-favour strikers will likely depart from the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer transfer window, prompting Real Madrid to look for a young striker despite the links with Erling Haaland, making Sesko a viable target.

As for Liverpool, the Reds are seemingly facilitating the transition to the next generation of attackers, illustrated by the acquisition of Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota. And signing a striker is the next objective for Liverpool, with Roberto Firmino on the wrong side of 30. Sesko has thus emerged as an option worth considering for the Merseyside giants.

Real Madrid and Liverpool now face stiff competition from Bayern Munich in the race to sign the 18-year-old. The Bundesliga champions will need to invest in a striker amid rampant uncertainties surrounding the future of Robert Lewandowski. And while Oliver Kahn has insisted that the Pole is going nowhere in the summer, Sesko could be a long-term successor at Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich’s entry into the picture spices up the race to sign Sesko from Red Bull Salzburg. It will be interesting to see how Real Madrid and Liverpool respond to the Bavarian club’s emergence in the race to sign the Red Bull Salzburg striker, who could make a big summer move.
