Real Madrid, Arsenal and Liverpool will reportedly need to pay only €30 million to sign Youri Tielemans from Leicester City in the summer.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Leicester City’s asking price for Youri Tielemans has dropped to €30 million. The Belgian midfielder is a target for Real Madrid, Arsenal, and Liverpool over a possible move in the summer transfer window.

Youri Tielemans has come leaps and bounds since joining Leicester City from AS Monaco. The 24-year-old initially moved to the King Power Stadium on loan for the second half of the 2018/19 season before completing a permanent transfer in July 2019.

To date, the Belgian international has turned out 147 times for Leicester, chipping in with 24 goals and 22 assists in the process. But Tielemans’s stint with the Foxes will likely end in the summer transfer window, with his contract having a little over a year left to run out. Such a situation has captured the attention of Real Madrid, Arsenal, and Liverpool.

The interest from Real Madrid stems from the rampant uncertainties surrounding the futures of Dani Ceballos and Isco. With the duo expected to depart from the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer transfer window, Real Madrid will need to invest in a central midfielder, especially with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos approaching the final phases of their respective careers.

As for Arsenal, the Gunners could do with the addition of a versatile midfielder like Tielemans. The Belgian playmaker could boost Arsenal’s creative output from deeper positions while also aiding them defensively, thus making him a viable target for the north Londoners.

Meanwhile, recent reports have suggested that Liverpool might not be interested in signing the 24-year-old. But Tielemans has the ability to fit in the Reds’ midfield. And with James Milner in the twilight of his career, the Leicester City midfielder could be a long-term successor for the veteran English utility man.

The report is made up, speculation masquerading as fact. Leicester never reveal what they will accept for a player beforehand. And, if so many super rich clubs are after him the price, of course, is going to go up. I have to say, too, that the media is inadvertently helping Leicester by talking the player up. Have you seen Tielemans play 90 minutes recently? I thought not! He’s a good player but certainly not world class
