Barcelona are reportedly willing to shell out a transfer fee of around €25-30 million to sign Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich in the summer.

According to transfer expert Gerard Romero, Barcelona are ready to part with a sum of €25-30 million in their bid to lure Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich in the upcoming transfer window.

The 33-year-old has emerged as a top target for Barcelona after it became apparent that a move for Erling Haaland would not materialise. Lewandowski will enter the final year of his contract with Bayern Munich this summer. Talks have not been fruitful as the striker is seeking a long-term contract which Die Roten have been unwilling to offer thus far.

It has thus led to Lewandowski considering leaving the Allianz Arena, with Barcelona emerging as his next potential destination. The Catalans intend to sign a new marquee striker to spearhead the club’s rebuild under Xavi Hernandez and have seemingly zeroed in on the Polish international as their man after their pursuit of Haaland fell apart.

Lewandowski has reportedly demanded a three-year contract from Barcelona. And reports from Polish publication Interia Sport sensationally claimed that the two parties had reached an agreement over a summer move, with the 33-year-old snubbing other offers from clubs like Liverpool, PSG and Manchester City.

However, Fabrizio Romano was quick to downplay those claims. The Italian journalist insisted that there are talks ongoing between Lewandowski’s camp and Barcelona. But there is no agreement as of yet.

Gerard Romero, too, has claimed that a contract agreement has not been struck. Building on top of that, the Barcelona transfer expert has added that the La Liga giants would be willing to offer as much as €25-30 million to sign Lewandowski from Bayern Munich in the summer.

These claims completely contradict a report from SPORT from a couple of weeks ago, which had claimed that the Catalan heavyweights would be prepared to shell out around €60 million to lure the prolific marksman to Camp Nou next summer

With several contrasting claims emerging on the situation, it will be interesting to see how this story unfolds. As things stand, though, Lewandowski is very much on the radars of Barcelona, and talks are ongoing between his camp and the Blaugrana over a potential transfer come summer. Bayern Munich, for their part, remain keen on holding on to their superstar, but it remains to be seen if they are willing to hand him a three-year deal.
