La Liga heavyweights Barcelona could make a last-ditch attempt to sign Erling Haaland, a target for Real Madrid and Manchester City.

According to a report by Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona might not be out of the race to sign Erling Haaland in the summer transfer window after telling Mino Raiola to keep them in the loop about developments. The Borussia Dortmund striker is also a target for Real Madrid and Manchester City.

Erling Haaland has become one of the hottest properties in the market since joining Borussia Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2020. The Norwegian striker has scored goals for fun during his stint with the Bundesliga giants and has remained prolific this term despite enduring an injury-riddled 2021/22 campaign.

The 21-year-old has amassed 23 goals and seven assists in 25 appearances across all competitions. But Haaland could leave Dortmund in the summer transfer window, with some of the most high profile clubs in Europe, including Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Barcelona, keen on prising him away from the Signal Iduna Park.

Widespread reports have suggested that Real Madrid could offload half a dozen players to make room for Haaland and Kylian Mbappe. And with Karim Benzema approaching the final phase of his illustrious career, Haaland could be the perfect successor, even though the Frenchman is in the form of his life.

Meanwhile, Manchester City will look to sign Haaland as the long-sought long-term successor to Sergio Aguero. But the Premier League champions could have an uphill task in the race to sign the 21-year-old, as recent reports have suggested that he favours joining Real Madrid instead.

Meanwhile, Barcelona might not be out of Real Madrid and Manchester City’s crosshairs, with the Blaugrana poised to make a last-ditch attempt to secure the services of the Borussia Dortmund striker. The Catalan giants have told Mino Raiola to keep them in the loop over developments surrounding Haaland.
