Ronald Araujo is reportedly on the brink of officially committing his long-term future to Barcelona after telling his agent to accept their contract offer.

According to reputed Spanish journalist Alex Pintanel, Ronald Araujo’s long-standing contract standoff with Barcelona will end soon. The 23-year-old defender has instructed his agent to accept Barcelona’s proposal and will commit his long-term future to the Blaugrana by signing a bumper new deal.

Ronald Araujo has established himself as one of the best defenders in La Liga since joining Barcelona from Boston River several years ago. Since securing promotion to the first-team setup a couple of years ago, the Uruguayan international has enjoyed a swift rise in stature. He is now among the most reliable performers for the Blaugrana.

The 23-year-old defender has enjoyed a solid 2021/22 campaign, chipping in with four goals in 34 appearances across all competitions. But Araujo’s contract situation had been leaving Barcelona in a spot of bother for a long time, considering his deal runs out in a little over a year.

As a result, several clubs have emerged as prospective suitors for Araujo, with Manchester City the latest European bigwig to pursue him. But the youngster remains committed to Barcelona and has been eager to stay put at Camp Nou beyond the summer transfer window despite widespread interest in his services.

Recent reports claimed that Barcelona’s latest contract offer was their final proposal for Araujo. And the 23-year-old Uruguayan defender has seemingly accepted the terms that Barcelona tabled, with Alex Pintanel claiming that he is ready to put pen to a bumper new deal.

Araujo has instructed his agent to accept Barcelona’s contract offer, which comes in the wake of his recent comments, insisting he wants to stay put at Camp Nou for many years. And Araujo’s agent Flavio Perchman has confirmed that the two parties will soon official reach an agreement over a renewal.

Perchman said, “It’s close. There is a desire on both sides [to finalise the renewal] and Ronald wants to stay at the club.” So, it looks like Araujo’s stint with Barcelona will continue beyond the summer transfer window, forcing his prospective suitors to look elsewhere to bolster their defence.

Yes, great, we need him, he is barca’s wall.
This example should show barca, how good their talent pool is. They should support la masia, and give the young players chances, instead of buying stars, create your own stars, barca, and for the future you should also create own talents, who are real 9ers!!!!!!!!!
