Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in securing the services of teenage goalkeeping prospect Jack Thompson from Derby County.
According to The Sun, 15-year-old Derby County prospect, Jack Thompson is attracting serious interest from clubs in the Premier League, with Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur vying for his signature.
Derby County remain plagued with financial problems as they are still in administration and are in urgent need of cash injection. It has led to several promising players leaving the club in the past, with more expected to follow suit in the coming summer.
And 15-year-old goalkeeping prospect Jack Thompson could be on his way out next, with Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur pushing to sign the youngster.
Thompson is widely regarded as one of the best talents in his position in the country in his age group. The teenage prodigy has represented the England national team at the Under-15 and Under-16 levels and has attracted a lot of eyes with his performances.

Chelsea are also said to be interested in the Derby County starlet. But their current situation with the sanctions imposed by the UK Government on their owner Roman Abramovich will prevent the Blues from making a move. It leaves Manchester City and Tottenham with a free run at Jack Thompson.
Manchester City have recently raided Derby County’s Moor Farm academy for the signing of young forward Liam Delap, who is tipped for a bright future in the game. The Cityzens have some exciting young prospects coming through the youth ranks at the club and are keen to continue strengthening their academy roster with the signing of Thompson.
Tottenham, too, have produced some eye-catching young talent through their academy of late. Oliver Skipp has become a household name this term, while the likes of Dane Scarlett and Harvey White are exciting prospects for the future. So, it does not come as a surprise that the Lilywhites are on the lookout for the best young talents around the country, with Thompson emerging as a target.
The report states that Derby County could stand to bag a sizable bid for the 15-year-old prodigy as they look to emerge out of administration. It will be interesting to see who between Tottenham and City capture the services of Thompson.
