Chelsea and Liverpool are reportedly on alert as Paris Saint-Germain whizkid Ismael Gharbi faces an uncertain future at Parc des Princes.

A recent report from Goal has offered an update on Ismael Gharbi. It appears the Paris Saint-Germain youngster is staring at an uncertain future at the club, with his current deal at Parc des Princes expiring at the end of the season.

Gharbi’s contract situation has put multiple clubs on alert, with Premier League duo Liverpool and Chelsea among the teams ready to secure his services on a Bosman deal this summer.

A native of Paris, Gharbi is regarded as one of the most talented players to come out of the PSG academy lately. An attacking midfielder by trade, the youngster has shown immense promise, especially with his exceptional close control and the ability to squeeze through tight spaces in the final third.

Despite his undeniable talent, though, the 17-year-old is yet to make a breakthrough at PSG. While the player’s priority is to remain at Parc des Princes, he wants some reassurance over his game-time next season before penning a contract extension. And given PSG’s strength in depth, many expect the youngster to move on.

Liverpool are among the teams hoping to take advantage of this market opportunity and wrap up the signing of Gharbi. The Reds have already been active in the market when it comes to signing young talents in Europe, with the club reportedly closing in on the capture of Fabio Carvalho from Fulham.

Gharbi, to that end, could be an excellent addition to LFC’s youth ranks, with the midfielder being more than capable of competing with the first-team stars in the near future.

Chelsea could be another destination for the PSG youth sensation. The Blues have an excellent reputation for nurturing young talents, and given their current situation, coach Thomas Tuchel could be in a position to revolve his game-plan around young players, especially with Hakim Ziyech facing an uncertain future at the club.

While Gharbi is far from a finished product, his exceptional quality and potential could make him an excellent long-term investment for both of these Premier League giants. However, given the youngster currently favours a prolonged stay at PSG, it will be a surprise to see him depart the French capital in the summer.
