Barcelona and Real Madrid will reportedly face stiff competition from Bayern Munich in the race to sign 22-year-old Spanish international Pedro Porro.
According to a report by Spanish publication AS, Pedro Porro has popped up on the radar of Bayern Munich over a possible move in the summer transfer window. The Spanish international, who is on loan at Sporting CP from Manchester City, is also a target for Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Pedro Porro has come leaps and bounds since joining Sporting CP on loan from Manchester City in August 2020. Over the last two years, the 22-year-old has been an excellent performer for the Portuguese giants, with his performances also helping him break into the Spanish national side.
Porro has enjoyed an excellent 2021/22 season, amassing four goals and seven assists in 28 outings across all competitions thus far. The Spanish international will likely join Sporting CP permanently in the summer. But he could leave the Leoes in the same window, with Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich keen on signing him.
Barcelona will delve into the transfer market for a right-back in the summer transfer window, with Sergino Dest facing an uncertain future at Camp Nou despite some impressive performances lately. Sergi Roberto could also leave Barcelona ahead of the 2022/23 season, with his contract expiring in a few months. And with Dani Alves in the twilight of his career, signing someone like Porro will be a step in the right direction.
Meanwhile, the links with Real Madrid come in the wake of Dani Carvajal’s waning performance levels. The Spanish international has been a shell of his best this season, with injuries taking their toll. The latest of Carvajal’s underwhelming performances came in Sunday’s El Clasico, with Barcelona handing Real Madrid a 4-0 hammering.
Apart from Barcelona and Real Madrid, Porro is now also a target for Bayern Munich. The Bavarian giants are keen on signing a right-back in the summer, as Bouna Sarr will likely depart the Allianz Arena, while Benjamin Pavard has blown hot and cold this season. To that end, several right-backs, including Dest, have been linked with Bayern Munich, with Porro also a viable target.
As per the report, Sporting CP could demand around €30 million for the 22-year-old Spanish international after signing him permanently. Bayern Munich could soon launch the offensive for Porro. But with Barcelona and Real Madrid also in the hunt, it remains to be seen where the young full-back will play next season.
