Serie A giants Inter Milan and Juventus are reportedly ready to test the waters at Chelsea as they keep an eye on Conor Gallagher, currently on loan at Crystal Palace.

According to The Sun, Inter Milan and Juventus are closely monitoring the progress of Conor Gallagher. Their scouts were in attendance during Crystal Palace’s draw with Manchester City. It is believed both the Serie A giants are aiming to take advantage of Chelsea’s situation and test the waters at Stamford Bridge with a potential bid.

Gallagher was expected to return to Stamford Bridge in the summer in order to compete for a place in the first-team squad under Thomas Tuchel. However, the sanctions on Roman Abramovich has left the club in limbo, with Chelsea running the risk of going into administration should they default on their payments during the remainder of the campaign.

The sanction could leave a lasting impact at Chelsea, with Antonio Rudiger already expected to leave the club, having reportedly agreed personal terms with Juventus.

The same Juventus side are now keeping close tabs on Gallagher, who has enjoyed tremendous success since joining Crystal Palace on loan last summer. The playmaker made a blistering start to the season, impressing the onlookers with his aggression and work ethic, coupled with his productivity in the final third.

Although Gallagher’s form has dipped over the course of the campaign, his success has not gone unnoticed, with Juventus considering him as a potential replacement for Adrien Rabiot. The former PSG star could leave the Allianz Stadium in the summer, amid interest from Newcastle United, whereas Arthur Melo is facing an uncertain future at the Serie A club as well.

Inter Milan, meanwhile, could see Arturo Vidal depart from San Siro, whereas the likes of Matias Vecino and Roberto Gagliardini are not highly rated by coach Simone Inzaghi. The Serie A giants will thus need midfield reinforcements in the summer.

Someone like Conor Gallagher, to that end, could prove to be an excellent investment for both the Serie A giants, given the quality he brings to the table. And with Chelsea currently experiencing a crisis, it could be an ideal opportunity for them to snap him the talented Englishman on a cut-price deal this coming summer.
