La Liga heavyweights Barcelona are reportedly closely monitoring the progress of 17-year-old Turkish prodigy Arda Guler.

According to a report by Spanish publication SPORT, Arda Guler is the subject of interest from Barcelona. The 17-year-old Turkish wonderkid could leave Fenerbahce soon instead of running down his contract, which expires in the summer transfer window of 2025.

Arda Guler is widely regarded as one of the brightest young prospects in Turkey, having made massive strides in his budding career since joining Fenerbahce a couple of years ago. After making rapid progress in the youth setup at the Istanbul-based club, the teenage prodigy has been fast-tracked into the first-team squad this season.

While the 17-year-old is only a backup option for Fenerbahce at the moment, he has still been very impressive, managing one goal and four assists in just 249 minutes of game-time. Guler’s swift progress at the Ulker Fenerbahce Sukru Saracoglu Stadium has not gone unnoticed, with Barcelona tracking his progress closely.

The Catalan giants are renowned for foraying into Spanish and European markets for the brightest young prospects on the continent. This outlook has fetched Barcelona several promising players over the years, with the Blaugrana most recently reaching an agreement to sign Emre Demir from Kayserispor.

Demir will join Barcelona B upon officially completing his switch to Catalonia in the summer transfer window. And the 18-year-old Turkish prodigy could soon be joined by compatriot Arda Guler, who continues to go from strength to strength at Fenerbahce.

The 17-year-old most recently burst onto the limelight with a stunning performance in which he scored and assisted a goal apiece in 16 minutes. Barcelona could soon launch an offensive to prise Guler away from the Ulker Fenerbahce Sukru Saracoglu Stadium in the summer transfer window.

According to SPORT, Guler has no intention of running down his contract with Fenerbahce and will look to pay the Turkish club back with a handsome transfer fee. For now, though, the 17-year-old Turkish prodigy continues to go from strength to strength at Fenerbahce, and a big move to Barcelona – or some other club for that matter – could be on the cards for him.
