Newcastle United have reportedly joined Arsenal and Liverpool in the hunt for Renato Sanches, with the Portuguese international set to leave Lille in the summer.

According to Tuto Juve, Newcastle United are the latest team to join in the hunt for Renato Sanches. The Portuguese international is seeking a new challenge away from Lille, with the Ligue 1 outfit ready to cash in on the midfielder who will have a year left in the summer and is also pursued by Arsenal and Liverpool.

Renato Sanches is attracting plenty of attention from clubs across Europe and England, with a summer move looking increasingly likely to happen. The midfielder is keen on embarking on a new challenge after feeling his time in France may be over.

Sanches will have a year left on his contract when the summer transfer window opens, which leaves a world of possibilities. The most probable outcome would be a sale, as Lille would want to exact a decent value for the midfielder rather than losing him on a free transfer a year later.

There is significant interest from Liverpool and Arsenal from the Premier League. The English giants have been chasing the Portuguese international for a considerable period, although they never managed to convince Lille to sell the player earlier.

Juventus are also in the hunt, with the Italian giants eyeing a cut-price move to freshen up their midfield options. The Bianconeri could end up letting some of their existing stars leave the club to make space for the potential arrival of Sanches.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have been looking for a new central midfielder, potentially to replace Granit Xhaka in the summer. Their ultimate requirement is for someone who could slot in as a left-sided no. 8, with an attacking mentality. Liverpool would also like to somewhat refresh their options, with Sanches touted as the perfect candidate.

Those clubs have to face the challenge from Newcastle United, who are now interested in signing Sanches in the summer. The Magpies did make an expensive signing in January in Bruno Guimaraes, who plays in a similar position as the Portugal international. But Eddie Howe is interested in bringing in the best available quality in the market, and the Lille star certainly fits the bill.

Lille reportedly sought €30 million in January, although that price could significantly go down in the summer if clubs negotiate with the Ligue 1 outfit. The French champions are resigned to losing him, as any of Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle could meet their asking price.

Newcastle have made themselves favourites to escape relegation and sit well above the danger zone after positive results in recent weeks. If they remain in the top tier, the Magpies will embark on a massive transfer window in the summer with a huge budget.

Players like Sanches are considered essential for the Tyneside club’s project for the next phase. It remains to be seen if the Portuguese international is convinced by it and decides to take his chances at Newcastle. He could also choose other options like Arsenal and Liverpool and prolong his career at a well-established club.
