Manchester City superstar Bernardo Silva could be on the move in the summer transfer window as he dreams of joining Real Madrid.

According to Calciomercato, Manchester City are running the risk of losing star midfielder Bernardo Silva in the summer window, with the Portuguese international having his heart set on a transfer to Real Madrid.

Silva signed for Manchester City in the summer of 2017, arriving from AS Monaco, and quickly became a key member of the team under Pep Guardiola. While he did endure a slump after a stunning debut campaign, the 27-year-old has been playing at his best over the past eighteen months or so, with his form particularly peaking in the ongoing campaign.

Silva, to date, has made 235 appearances for Manchester City, scoring 45 goals and registering 47 assists. Ten of his 45 goals have come in the ongoing campaign, with the former Benfica wonderkid kicking on nicely after all the speculations regarding a summer move to Barcelona last year.

Silva’s position in the side is unquestioned, but rumours surrounding his immediate future at the Etihad Stadium are starting to surface yet again. The 27-year-old has a contract that runs until the summer of 2025. But despite that, it is being claimed that the Portuguese playmaker could be on the move this summer as he dreams of joining Real Madrid.

While there have been no new reports of interest from Los Blancos as of now, they could certainly make do with a player of Silva’s ilk. The Manchester City superstar could be an ideal, long-term replacement for Luka Modric at the Santiago Bernabeu, with the Croat very much in the twilight of his career.

Silva has proven to be an effective chance-creator, while he also possesses the ability to drive forward and make penetrating runs with the ball at his feet. At the same time, he has also impressed with his exceptional work rate and industry without the ball, all of which would make him a solid replacement for Modric at Real Madrid.

At the same time, Silva would also bring his versatile nature to the table, and could be deployed on the right flank wherein the likes of Marco Asensio, Rodrygo Goes have proven inconsistent while Gareth Bale is approaching the exit doors. However, as iterated earlier, there have not been any moves made by Los Blancos to lure the 27-year-old to the Spanish capital.

But with the player said to be keen on making the switch to Real Madrid, it could prompt the current La Liga leaders to make a play for Silva’s signing in the summer transfer window.
