Arsenal's former number one Wojciech Szczesny has re-joined AS Roma on loan, while defender Mathieu Debuchy is close to completing a loan switch to Turkish side Galatasaray.
Arsenal are in desperately in need of a top goalkeeper, and are ready to break the bank, in order to land Chelsea custodian Petr Cech. With Gunners keeper David Ospina being close to a move to Turkish club Fenerbache, Wojciech Szczesny is the only top goalkeeper on their roster. The Arsenal-Cech saga has been going on for quite some time now, in spite of Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho being reluctant to sell the Czech international to a Premier League rival. However, Arsenal, who are trying to eliminate their defensive blues, are reportedly trying really hard to bring Cech across town, to the Emirates. They are even ready to offer him a £100,000-a-week contract, making him one of the few Gunners players, to be paid six-figure wages, at the club, according to the Daily Telegraph. Arsenal keeper Wojciech Szczesny has voiced his disappointment with Gunners’ inability to maintain a title charge this season but has confessed that the squad will benefit from their experience and, if right players are signed, will pose a greater threat next term.
