Indian footballer Romeo Fernandes’ name gets inscribed in the pages of history books, as he becomes the first Indian to play in Brazilian top-tier football. The Dempo SC man joined Brazilian club Atletico Paranaense on loan this February. After 3 months of training with the club, the Goan footballer finally got an opportunity to showcase his talent today in a game against Nacional Atletico Clube in the Campeonato Paranaense tournament. He was brought in as a substitute in the 67th minute. Atletico Paranaense won the encounter by 5 goals to nil. Romeo was a product of Dempo SC’s youth setup. He made his debut for the Indian club in the 2011-12 season of the I-League. He came into prominence while playing in the inaugural edition of the Indian Super League for the FC Goa side.
