Former Arsenal winger Gervinho has hit back at Arsene Wenger for being the sole reason on why he decided to leave the club after just two seasons. Gervinho signed for Arsenal from French club Lille for a fee of €12m and had a disappointing first season at the club as he appeared 37 times for the gunners and managed to score just four goals. A season later, his performances took a further dip as he had to face competition from Santi Cazorla who was signed from Malaga. Gervinho told Gazzetta Dello Sport, “He [Wenger] never had confidence in me. As a child I dreamed of playing for Arsenal, because I loved them. “Now I hate them for the way Wenger treated me,” he added.
