Reports in Sky Sports suggest that Chelsea FC’s 24 year old French midfielder Gael Kakuta is set to join Seville in La Liga on a free transfer. The 24-year-old Chelsea FC winger is out of contract this summer after moving to London in 2007 from French club RC Lens. Kakuta was one of European football’s most sought after talents when he joined Chelsea FC at the age of 17. It was his transfer from Lens in which the Londoners were accused of tapping up the player and banned from signing new players for two transfer windows by FIFA, a judgement later quashed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport. The Lille-born Frenchman, however, has failed to live up to expectations, making only one Premier League start at Aston Villa in 2010, where he was replaced at half-time.
