Mere hours after sacking Scotsman David Moyes, La Liga club Real Sociedad have signed former Barcelona B coach Eusebio Sacristan as their manager. David Moyes, formerly of Everton and Manchester United fame, had been at the Spanish club for a year, helping his side pick up 46 points from 38 games and finish 12th in La Liga last year. However, according to The Guardian, the 2-0 defeat to relegation battlers Las Palmas this past Friday proved to be the final straw as Moyes, along with assistant coach Billy McKinlay, were relieved of their duties. “Real Sociedad would like to thank David Moyes and Billy McKinlay for the professional conduct, commitment and dedication which they showed during their roles in the running of the first team,” the club said in an official statement while releasing the pair.
