All Spanish football competitions will be suspended later this month in a strike that could ‘indefinitely’ affect La Liga and the Copa del Rey in the final weeks of the 2014-15 season. The strike, set to begin with penultimate round of La Liga games next weekened, originates from a disagreement over television rights with the Spanish football federation unhappy with the government over a revenue distribution dispute. As it stands there are just three games left to play in the Spanish top tier, with Barcelona leading Real Madrid by two points at the summit, while Barca are also set to face Athletic Bilbao in the cup final on May 30.
